Morgan McKinley is seeking a Trade Finance Associate for a 6-month contract assignment - highly convertible to perm!
Join our dynamic team as an Associate in Trade Finance Operations. You will be responsible for managing Import and Export Letters of Credit, Guarantees, and Bills for collection, ensuring compliance with International Chamber of Commerce rules and our bank's policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle Letters of Credit (import and export), guarantees, and bills for collection, ensuring adherence to high quality standards and timely service for our customers.
- Uphold the highest standards of compliance, adhering to International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) rules, bank policies, and all relevant regulations.
- Process import and export Letters of Credit efficiently and accurately, in accordance with international regulations. This will directly support our business units and strengthen relationships with our clients
- Ensure all trade finance activities are conducted within the framework of banking credit lines granted to customers.
- Organize, supervise, and direct activities within the bills processing, import/export financing, and letter of credit establishment functions.
- Respond to customer inquiries promptly and effectively, addressing their needs and concerns.
- Review all applications and documents presented by clients, ensuring compliance with policies, rules, and regulations.
- Supervise the work of bills processing staff, ensuring all departmental activities adhere to established policies and regulations.
- Other ad-hoc duties assigned
Qualifications:
- University degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of Trade Finance experience, preferably within the banking industry as a Checker ; knowledge of ICC rules is a plus.
- With knowledge of Operations (UCP, ISP, URR, Incoterms, URDG and URC, current revisions)
- Good understanding of the type of products and services required and expected by customers.
- Up-to-date knowledge of changing procedures & systems.
