Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with marine engines, auxiliary engine, steering systems, and other components etc.
- Perform repairs on inboard and outboard engines, including fuel systems, cooling systems, and exhaust systems
- Conduct routine maintenance to ensure all shipboard system are working in satisfactory order
- Ensure the cleanliness of ship and engine room when onboard
- Provide detailed reports on work performed and explain the nature of repairs and services to customers
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to marine service and repairs
- Maintain accurate records of services performed, including time, parts used, and labor
- Utilize service management software to log and track repairs and maintenance tasks
- Work closely with other technicians and service team members to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction
- Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians as needed
- Any other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in marine mechanics or related field preferred
- Knowledge of marine vessels systems, including electric motors, generators, batteries, power management systems, and control systems is an advantage
- Familiarity with marine vessel propulsion systems, including diesel engines, gas turbines, and electric propulsion technologies
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in marine service and repair
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and marine service equipment
- Knowledge of marine engines and aux engines
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
