Role Overview:
The Senior Civil Engineer will be responsible for leading civil design projects, including calculations and reviewing design drawings for industrial plants like petrochemical and oil refineries. The role requires ensuring compliance with client specifications, industry codes, and standards, delivering accurate designs, and managing civil project teams. This position involves overseeing the entire design process, from concept to detailed engineering, while ensuring project schedules and manpower are well controlled.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead civil and structural engineering teams for front-end and detailed design engineering projects.
- Assist the Discipline Manager in managing civil manpower for projects.
- Develop project specifications, design philosophies, and calculation templates to meet client and local authority requirements.
- Control project man-hours and schedules for civil-related tasks.
- Prepare foundation, structural, or hydraulic calculations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications. Average output includes three foundation designs per day or one structural calculation report per week.
- Create 3D models, design drawings for structures and foundations, and shop fabrication drawings.
- Provide design data to Designers to ensure technical clarity and completeness for efficient workflow.
- Prepare anchor bolt and setting bolt lists, ensuring a (+/-) 10% safety factor and meeting client procurement requirements.
- Review and check design outputs and drawings for accuracy and completeness.
- Act as Assistant Key Person for small or NIDC projects, ensuring smooth coordination and delivery.
- Collaborate with Engineers and Designers to produce civil design and drawing outputs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Department Manager.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in plant engineering design and construction, especially in Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, or Industrial plant projects.
- Consistent career experience in engineering departments.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in computer tools and peripherals for engineering tasks.
- Basic knowledge of STAAD, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
- Excellent communication and technical skills, with strong leadership and analytical abilities.
- Ability to interpret technical documents, contracts, and reports.
