We are looking for a Senior Research Analyst for the area of Software Applications. IDC is seeking an experienced candidate to lead our Asia/Pacific Enterprise Software Applications Practice. We're on the hunt for a curious mind, a critical/analytical thinker, who enjoys analyzing complex ideas, and can proactively provide thought leadership, advisory, and new perspectives to our clients.
As a Senior Research Analyst for the Asia/Pacific region, your role will be to create thought leadership insights, shape the research agenda for the Asia/Pacific region and China and help connect technology vendors to channel partners and technology buyers through effective research and go-to-market content and insights.
You must be a good writer and speaker with analytical skills, and have experience in either market research or enterprise resource applications. You could also be working in IT/technology vendors, technology/business consulting, or advisory firms. You should be a good communicator, with a good talent for discussing and analyzing complex ideas. Your focus will be on analyzing how the enterprise applications (e.g. ERP, CRM, HCM, financial apps) will evolve in the future; and how technology can help overcome business challenges, as well as drive business value.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct, write and present though leadership research deliverables with valuable insights, and actionable recommendations for technology executives.
- Engage with technology vendor ecosystems to gain comprehensive understanding of new/emerging capabilities that can make a difference to the areas of software applications.
- Establish tech buyer relationships to build influence, and gain deeper understanding of requirements, challenges, buying behaviour, etc.
- Collaborate and partner with global, AP regional and country/local teams to create a cohesive and holistic perspective of software applications.
- Supports business development for the enterprise software applications practice to contribute to its growth.
Requirements
- The candidate must have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience in the IT/technology industry, IT/digital functional area or business/strategy/technology consulting, or in leading market research firms.
- Has excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- With the ability and experience in presentations to external clients.
- Is well-connected in the technology industry.
- Has the ability to connect well with directors/VP executives across APAC region.
- Has worked in a multi-cultural environment.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively.
