General Job Description
The MICE Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s MICE activities, including planning, coordination, and execution of meetings, incentives, conferences, and events. This position supports the MICE Director in driving business growth, ensuring exceptional client experiences, maximizing event profitability, and maintaining high standards of service and efficiency.
Responsibilities
1. Event Planning and Management
• Lead the planning and execution of meetings, conferences, seminars, exhibitions, and other corporate events.
• Coordinate all aspects of event logistics, including venue selection, catering, audiovisual requirements, and transportation.
2. Client Relationship Management
• Serve as the primary point of contact for corporate clients, understanding their event objectives and requirements.
• Build strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
3. Sales and Business Development
• Support the MICE Director in driving business growth by identifying new opportunities, generating leads, and developing sales strategies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, vendors, and industry partners.
4. Budgeting and Financial Management
• Adhering to event budgets and manage expenses to achieve profitability targets.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers, vendors, and venues to optimize costs and deliver value to clients.
5. Team Leadership and Coordination
• Supervise and coordinate event coordinators and staff and vendors to ensure seamless execution of events.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members and oversee their performance.
• Work with MICE Director and Chief Operating officer to ensure high quality of events’ delivery
6. Marketing and Promotion
• Coordinate with the marketing team to promote MICE services and attract corporate clients.
• Develop marketing materials and participate in promotional activities to enhance market visibility.
7. Quality Assurance and Compliance
• Implement quality assurance measures to uphold high standards of service delivery and client satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements during events.
8. Post-Event Evaluation and Reporting
• Conduct post-event evaluations to assess success metrics and gather client feedback.
• Prepare comprehensive event reports and analysis for management review.
9. Industry and Market Research
• Research on industry trends, competitor activities, and client preferences in the MICE sector.
• Use insights to propose innovative service offerings and operational efficiency.
Education, Experience, and Requirements:
• Diploma certificate in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, Business Administration, or related field required; additional certifications in event management or higher educational certificates are advantageous.
• Proven experience with at least 3 to 5 years in event management, preferably in MICE, with a track record of organizing successful corporate events.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
• Knowledge of event planning software and tools.
• Leadership and team-building abilities.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and excellence.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Office environment with frequent travel to event sites.
