Join our passionate team at Golden Cap Farm as a Mushroom Farm Hand, where you will be an integral part of our daily operations, contributing to the cultivation and harvesting of high-quality mushrooms. This role is ideal for individuals who have a keen interest in sustainable agriculture and are looking to gain hands-on experience in mushroom farming.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cultivation and Maintenance:Assist in the preparation of growing media and setting up cultivation environments.
Monitor environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, and light, ensuring optimal growth conditions.
Perform regular maintenance tasks, such as watering, adjusting ventilation, and controlling pests and diseases. - Harvesting and Processing:Carefully harvest mushrooms, ensuring they are picked at the correct stage of growth.
Sort and grade harvested mushrooms based on size and quality.
Prepare mushrooms for distribution, including cleaning, packaging, and labeling. - Quality Control:Conduct regular inspections of mushrooms for signs of disease or poor quality.
Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards of production.
Report any issues or abnormalities to the supervisor promptly. - Record Keeping:Maintain accurate records of cultivation parameters and harvest yields.
Document any procedural adjustments and their outcomes. - Team Collaboration:Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. - Safety and Cleanliness:Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
Qualifications:
- 'O' Level or equivalent.
- Previous experience in agriculture or farming is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 25kg, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of plant biology and agricultural practices is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and indoor environments.
