The Operations & Warehouse Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of warehouse management policies and system, ensuring that all warehouse operations from receiving of goods, putting away, retrieving, order processing and deliveries are done in a timely and efficient manner that meets the established service level standards and procedures.
The incumbent is required to manage warehouse business resources, including manpower, internal assets and external vendors.
The Operations & Warehouse Manager is also in-charge of all timely and accurate replenishment of warehouse goods to the retail outlets, while continually communicating with the various retail outlet managers/supervisors to keep an optimal range of products available for sale at each outlet.
Job Description
- Develop and oversee the implementation of warehouse policies, system and procedures to ensure that the warehouse activities are at an optimum level in term of efficiency and productivity.
- Review and plan regularly the warehouse space to maximise efficiency.
- Plan and implement new layout designs to meet storage requirements and that the new layouts are in compliance with Singapore’s fire and safety regulations.
- Ensure proper 5S housekeeping in the warehouse and that all goods are secured and safeguarded against damages and thefts.
- Control inventory levels of all products (approximately 5000-line items in our warehouse) and work with relevant departments for timely stock reordering/replenishment.
- Coordinate with shipping companies, freight hauler, custom tax clearing agents and any other vendors in relation to deliveries of goods from suppliers/manufacturers to warehouse.
- Liaise with overseas suppliers from Guangzhou, Yi-Wu and Taiwan for reordering of goods and informing of inaccuracy, defects and damages.
- Ensure all warehouse documentation are properly handled by the warehouse staff and are updated in the warehouse system.
- Conduct physical counts and reconcile stocks in the accounting system.
- Continue to look out for warehousing and supply chain management improvements. To proactively work with Business Development Manager for possible improvements.
- Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, dead stock report etc.) and communicate inventory levels to staff and sales force.
- Ensure workplace safety and all warehouse equipment are in good working condition through regular inspections and issue of work orders for repair and maintenance.
- Schedule warehouse staff’s working hours and daily tasks.
- Supervise warehouse staff, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
- Ensure warehouse staff’s compliance with safety rules and regulations while at work.
- Train and develop staff through coaching as well as counsel and discipline employees for misconduct or poor performance.
- Ensure warehouse staff assist with the disposal of rubbish, selling of cupboard and charging of electric forklifts, etc.
- Assist the Facility Manager in all facility management matters.
- Handle all Indent customers and keep abreast on their product demands and needs. Proactively contact the Indent customers when temporarily out-of-stock goods are restocked.
- Any other tasks assigned by the Management.
Requirements
- Diploma in Warehouse Management or equivalent.
- At least 10 years of Warehouse Management experience preferably in FMCG industry and must have at least 8 years or more as a warehouse manager capacity.
- In depth knowledge of warehouse operations (such as supply chain, logistics, customer service) and able to continuous improvement the warehouse operation processes.
- Has obtained forklift license.
- Knowledge of warehouse best practices and local legislation.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with good leadership skills.
- Computer literate, resourceful and systematic.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
