Job Description:
- Examine and analyze patient medical records to identify relevant diagnoses, treatments, and procedures.
- Ensure that medical documentation is accurate, complete, and meets coding guidelines.
- Assign appropriate alphanumeric codes to diagnoses, procedures, and services based on international coding systems.
- Adhere to coding standards, regulations, and compliance requirements, including those set by health insurance companies, government agencies, and healthcare organizations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, to clarify documentation and obtain additional information when needed.
- Participate in coding audits and quality assurance initiatives to ensure the accuracy and integrity of coded data.
Requirements:
- Meticulous and thorough in reading through clinical documentation
- Ability to work independently and also in a team
- A target-oriented team player with initiative and positive work attitude
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Proficient with Microsoft applications
