RESPONSIBILITIES
- To be accountable to the Head of Centre for the safety, hygiene, training, caring and general well-being of the trainees in the Training & Development Centre.
- To work collaboratively with the Assistant Training Officer to assist the Training Officers in the day to day operations of the Training and Development Centre.
- To assist in executing and implement Individual Training Programme (ITP) with the supervision of senior TOs.
- To assist in continuous assessment, training and evaluation of trainees' holistic development.
- Collaboratively work with families in the implementation of trainees' ITPs.
- Implement and monitor trainees' security and safety procedures.
- To assist in recording information pertaining to individual trainees in Client's Log e.g. communications to/from caregivers and occurrences.
- To assist in recording significant behaviors for regulation in ABC Chart & Behaviour Incident Log.
- To report of any incident / critical trainees' occurrences/events.
- To assist in Implementing routine checks on physiological and psychological well-being of trainees.
- To assist in conducting appropriate group activities.
- Communicate and maintain good rapport with parents / caregivers.
- Attend staff meeting regularly.
- Attend training as and when required.
- Observe and provide information to assist in assessing and evaluating trainees' pre-vocational training programme.
- To assist in the pre-vocational training programme.
- To assist in supervising a day to day pre-vocational training for trainees.
- Support internal events and activities organized for trainees.
- Support external agencies that organize events and activities for trainees.
- Support the volunteers' development activities.
- Support public education activities.
- To attend to request by staff on minor repairs and maintenance.
- To report to Head of Centre for any repairs.
- To attend immediately to any major and urgent repairs.
- To maintain and improve the physical environment of the Centre.
- To assist other staff in construction and /or improvement of the work area.
- To look into the safety aspects of the centre /clients/staff.
- To ensure the rooms /doors/windows/power points are properly shut and locked at the end of the day/week.
- To ensure that safety rules, regulations and procedures are observed.
- To ensure safety management procedures are in place and are in operation.
- To plan, execute and record fire drill procedures twice yearly.
- To maintain general cleanliness of the Centre.
- To maintain hygiene standards for meal preparations.
- To ensure that meals are well balanced and of nutritional value.
- To provide inventory control and replenishment of first aid items on a quarterly basis.
- To update staff on first aid information and emergency procedures.
- To organize and update first aid training for staff.
- To provide any information pertaining to health issues.
- To co-ordinate health programs lead by Medicare Team.
- To ensure that staff, clients and clients' families are constantly updated about Medicare information/issues.
- To represent Centre in any sports and related activities.
- To record and take stocks of sports equipment and recommend new purchases.
- To organize sports activities for the Centre.
- To recruit and train new clients for sports events.
- To plan regular sports training program throughout the year.
- To document sports and training programs.
- To organize festival celebrations for the centre.
- To propose and apply budget through Centre Head.
- To organize annual camp for the centre.
- To propose and apply budget through Centre Head.
- To organize clients' year end party
- To propose and apply budget through Centre Head.
- To organize clients' annual picnic.
- To propose and apply budget through Centre Head.
- To represent Centre in the IT sub-committee and any IT related meetings.
- To report to Head of Centre for any computer faults and repairs.
- To attend to request by staff on minor computer issues/problems.
- To train staff to attain minimum computer and audio-visual product knowledge.
- To conduct regular IT programs for clients.
- To document, maintain, recommend and improve IT materials and AVA equipment.
- To represent Centre and organize programs/activities for the well being of staff.
- To look into the welfare of staff.
- To ensure safety procedures are adhered to in respect to alighting and boarding of buses by our clients upon arrival and departing from the centre.
- Staff on bus duties is to account for all clients arriving and departing from the centre.
- To vet through all case/health referrals and reviews.
- To ensure that information provided are accurate and comprehensive.
- To upload reviews and health referrals into centre's shared folder.
- Any other duties allocated by the Head of Centre
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Secondary Education/ Employability skills (ES-WPLN)/any other relevant courses.
