Compliance Officer
We are looking to appoint an experienced Compliance Officer to build on our existing compliance capabilities and standards. The successful candidate will be able to provide assurance with all relevant regulations and industry legislation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Keep Management abreast of all related local compliance evolving landscape (i.e. regulatory changes) and provide guidance/advice to Management and Staff.
- Keep track of and prepare annual staff declarations, MAS filings, surveys, logs and registers.
- Prepare and conduct staff trainings in topics such as AML/KYC/CFT, technology risk awareness etc.
- Develop, maintain, review, and implement various manuals, frameworks and processes, including among others the Compliance Manual, Enterprise Risk Management Framework, Outsourcing Framework, BCP, AML/CFT, Liquidity Risk Management and any other frameworks as and when required.
- Conduct compliance monitoring program periodically to ensure Company complies with rules and regulations as well as company’s internal policies.
- Perform compliance related work including performing customer due diligence checks (KYC) and onboarding for all new clients and continuous due diligence review for existing relations etc. Liaise and coordinate with regulatory bodies, external / internal auditors and various stakeholders on compliances / audit matters.
- Assist with or take charge of ad-hoc projects or tasks as may be assigned from time-to-time.
- Identify inadequacies and weakness in systems and controls of compliance and Company’s functions and suggest improvements.
Candidates should possess the following:
- A bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business or related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant compliance experience in a financial institution.
- An analytical mind and good business sense, able to grasp the complexities of business nuances and balancing that with a keen sense of applicable regulations.
- Ability to challenge constructively and recommend appropriate boundaries.
- Process-driven mindset, meticulous, organised and attention to detail.
- Diligent, highly disciplined, self-motivated and outcome focused.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compliance certification is a plus.
- Certified Public Accountant (CFA) is a plus.
