Job Summary:
The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the door manufacturing facility. This role involves managing a team of workers, ensuring production targets are met, maintaining quality standards, and handling administrative tasks related to production. The Supervisor will play a key role in optimizing production processes, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervisory Duties:
- Team Management:Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of production workers.
Schedule shifts and manage attendance records.
Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback. - Production Oversight:Monitor production processes and workflows.
Ensure that production targets and deadlines are met.
Implement and enforce quality control measures.
Address and resolve any production issues or bottlenecks. - Training and Development:Train new employees on production techniques, safety protocols, and company policies.
Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge. - Safety and Compliance:Ensure all operations adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
Investigate and report any accidents or incidents.
Administrative Duties:
- Record Keeping:Maintain accurate production records, including daily output, defects, and downtime.
Prepare and submit production reports to the Production Manager. - Inventory Management:Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished products.
Coordinate with the procurement department to order supplies as needed. - Process Improvement:Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions.
Collaborate with the Production Manager to develop and execute process improvement initiatives. - Budget Management:Assist in preparing and managing the production budget.
Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
Communication and Coordination:
- Liaison:Serve as a point of contact between production workers and upper management.
Communicate effectively with other departments, such as maintenance, quality control, and logistics. - Problem-Solving:Address and resolve employee concerns and production-related issues.
Facilitate open communication and foster a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with production management software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
- This position may require standing for extended periods and working in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, as needed.
