The National Institute of Education invites suitable applicants for the position of Research Assistant on a 12-month contract at the Natural Sciences & Science Education Department.
Project Title: Adoption of Integrated Resources to Shape Integrated Learning Experiences: Insights from Implementation of 2023 Primary Science Syllabus
Project Introduction: This project focusses on understanding the adoption patterns of teachers and students pertaining to the 2023 primary science syllabus. Through interviews, classroom observations, video analysis and questionnaires, this project aims to develop insights of how teachers and students make use of the integrated suite of resources to support primary science learning.
Requirements:
Essential
- Bachelor degree in education-related fields
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Proficient with descriptive and inferential statistics
- Good analytical and critical thinking skills
- Good organizational skills, shows initiative to plan and anticipate work needed to be done
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative research analysis and literature review
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision within tight deadlines
Preferred
- Possess previous research and/or working experience in education contexts
Responsibilities:
Duties would include, but not limited to the following:
- Liaison with school partners
- Organisation of meetings
- Coordinating other team members
- Research-related collection and analysis
- Report writing
- All other project-related administration as assigned by the Principal Investigator
