Key Responsibilities:
- Client Consultation: Meet with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budget for residential, commercial, or hospitality projects. Provide design advice, material selections, and recommend ideas that fit the client's requirements.
- Design Development: Create detailed design concepts including layouts, mood boards, 3D visualizations, and floor plans using design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or 3Ds Max.
Select appropriate materials, furnishings, lighting, and accessories that complement the overall design.
- Project Planning & Budgeting: Develop project timelines and ensure designs are completed on schedule.
Work within the client’s budget, providing cost estimates for materials, labor, and design fees. Prepare tender documents and liaise with vendors for quotes and material samples.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure design implementation aligns with specifications. Conduct site visits to oversee the installation process and ensure all work is performed to the highest standards. Address any design-related issues that may arise during the project execution.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure that designs meet safety and accessibility standards, as well as building codes and regulations. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, materials, and technologies in interior design.
- Client Communication & Revisions: Present design concepts and revisions to clients for feedback and approval. Address any concerns or changes requested by the client and update the design accordingly.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate design documentation, including drawings, material lists, and project updates. Provide regular progress reports to clients and stakeholders, keeping them informed of the project’s status.
- Post-Project Evaluation:Ensure client satisfaction with the completed project. Offer post-project follow-up for any necessary adjustments or feedback.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong understanding of materials, textiles, color theory, and furniture design.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and project management skills.
