Your Responsibilities
- Execute shipments by closely monitoring logistics processes and interpreting contract terms to meet customer requirements and ensure timely appropriations against sales.
- Review documentary letters of credit, track issuance, and initiate necessary amendments to ensure compliance with trade terms and conditions.
- Manage letter of credit negotiation, import/export document handling, and laytime computation to facilitate seamless trading operations.
- Handle all shipment-related expenses, as well as manage client receivables and payables, ensuring accurate financial records
- Acknowledge and/or send vessel nominations, issuing vessel load orders to facilitate the loading and unloading of cargo.
- Prepare and arrange export documentation required for shipments, ensuring compliance with regulatory and trade requirements.
- Monitor vessel schedules for upcoming shipments of bulk commodities and container vessels, making necessary arrangements for timely loading and unloading.
- Collaborate with shipping agents, surveyors, and suppliers to address and resolve any issues that may arise during the shipment execution process.
- Maintain organized vessel files for tax and legal purposes, ensuring proper documentation of all trading activities.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as required to support the overall trading operations and team objectives.
Your Profile
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, International Trade, Logistics, or related disciplines.
- 2 – 5 years of working experience in trading operations, logistics, or a related field within the commodities industry.
- Strong understanding of contract terms and international trade practices.
- Familiarity with documentary letters of credit, import/export regulations, and shipping documentation.
- Proficiency in laytime computation and experience handling shipping-related financial transactions.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various stakeholders including shipping agents, surveyors, suppliers, and clients.
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for trade documentation, logistics tracking, and data management.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to adapt to rapidly changing situations.
