The role will manage clients’ insurance requirements in accordance with Company and/or Group policies to achieve targets, develop the business and deliver an excellent and comprehensive service. Negotiate with markets to obtain the best available terms to the clients’ requirements. The role operates as an experienced professional member of the management team. As a senior member of staff, may be responsible for mentoring or overseeing the work of more junior members of the team.
Specific Responsibilities
Clients
- Develop strong relationships with clients/cedants
- Meet agreed revenue targets
- Introduce clients to other team members and help maintain these relationships
- Behave with all clients (both internal and external) fairly and ethically
- Drives company growth by identifying new market opportunities, contacts, forming strategic partnerships, and implementing revenue-boosting initiatives.
Suppliers/Markets
- Develop strong relationships with markets
- Maintain an appropriate group of preferred markets in each area of activity broking
- Plan the most appropriate solution for the client’s demands and needs
- Negotiate with markets to provide best balance of quality, service and price
- Assist in the placement of accounts locally and via overseas BMS offices
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Company and/or Group policies and procedures
- Ensure correct authorization is obtained and processes followed when required by applicable Company and /or Group policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- Ensure performance, HR and T&C records are up to date and meet the Company and /or Group’s requirements
- Maintain accurate records and deal with correspondence appropriately
Reporting
- Provide relevant management information to senior management
Projects
- Manage assigned projects and contribute to other projects as required
- Respond appropriately to urgent issues as they arise
Market Awareness
- Keep informed of all legal and regulatory developments relevant to the division/department
- Share information that could be beneficial to the Company
- Any other reasonable duties, as required

Knowledge and Experience
- Extensive experience of working within the (Re)insurance environment as a broker
- Experience of working as an (Re)insurance broker within the Lloyds and international markets with focus on direct and wholesale financial lines
- Experience of working in a high pressure, multitask environment
- Has a reputation in the market and is able to leverage this to access a broad range of markets
- Proven leadership skills with demonstrable evidence of creating and leading in a high-performance working culture
