We’re searching for an Principal Engineer to be part of our IT Department diverse team of talent. You will be responsible to manage in house heterogeneous database systems (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, KDB+, DB2, SAP BASIS and etc.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for database administration for heterogeneous databases such as Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, KDB+ etc.
- Responsible for in-house SAP Basis administration of SAP and HR Portal systems
- Ensure SAP, HR Portal, Database and OS meets audit compliance
- Generate detail technical proposals based on applications/projects requirements
- Conduct proof of concept and solution evaluation
- Setup, configure databases to support different applications/ projects requirements
- Develop database monitoring & performance tuning scripts as needed
- Provide maintenance support including backups & restores, patches deployment, system performance tuning and issue troubleshooting
- Perform systems migrations, upgrades & integration with other systems
- Ensure database servers security for database engine and OS level to meet IT security compliance
- Perform database capacity planning for business growth
- Participate and support regular Disaster Recovery (DR) exercise by performing the database recovery and identify, document and close the gaps in the recovery and ensure relevant DR documentations are updated regularly.
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree or Professional Degree in Computer Science/ Engineering/ Information Technology or equivalent
- At least 3 years good experience in in SAP Basis, Portal, and Oracle Database administration
- Experience with database administration in Unix and Windows environment a must
- Certified Informix DBA or Certified MS SQL DBA an advantage
- Certified in other OLTP & OLAP databases an advantage
- SAP Basis Certification is an advantage
