ASSISTANT ENGINEER ELECTRICAL

Rotary Electrical & Instrumentation Pte. Ltd.

  • Daily Update of Project/Operation Progress to immediate superior.
  • To have and maintain good daily attendance and punctuality.
  • To update team member at least 2 working days in advance before going for leave, in order to minimize downtime.
  • Supervise and oversee the work of Electricians and Instrument Techs, responsible for training and testing, responsible for maintenance of and compliance with electrical safety program, including LOTO System.
  • Must have working knowledge of all applicable electrical industry standards and recommended practices, e.g. NEC, IEEE, ANSI, ISA, NEMA, CP5 etc.
  • Must have the knowledge and experience of instrumentation used to control and monitor processes in the chemical processing/Oil & Gas industry.
  • Must have hands on knowledge and experience with various types of instrument and electrical systems, equipment and software.
  • Experience and ability to manage electrical and instrumentation engineering projects with knowledge of how to establish estimates for VO/Change Order works.
  • Managing, allocating resources and ensuring completion of E&I work orders.
  • Leading the electricians and instrument techs in finding and executing solutions to E&I problems on site.
  • Planning and organization of some non-capital E&I project work, including plant shutdowns/TAR works.
  • Able to have understanding the control system architecture and software sufficient to find and modify elements.
  • Communicating with Project Engineer/QC engineer to validate and document all changes and highlight to PM for changes that shall involve additional works.
  • Nominating and training Instrument/Electrical Techs capable of doing works well.
  • Assist to set out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring checks are carried out on a regular basis.
  • Ensure that records are accurate and comply with organisational and legal requirements as well as project requirements.
  • Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time.
  • Produce procurement schedules for the jobs and liaise with the procurement department to ensure site have adequate resources to complete the tasks.
  • Produce ITP’s with QC Engineer and Task Briefings.
  • Produce 2 week look ahead in conjunction with the Site Agent.
  • Comply with company procedures and legal obligations.
  • Promote and comply with environmental compliance.
  • Deliver the works safely and to deadline.
  • Promote best practice for Safety , Quality and Productivity.
  • Ensure work is delivered defect/snag free.
  • Endeavour to spot and highlight value engineering opportunities and innovaive ideas and closely working with CM.
  • Coordinate with client and other Contractors for the project interface activities.
  • Managing project scope and change control with commerical or without commercial impact.
  • Monitor and ensure supervisor plan and instruct and monitor in DWI.
  • Update and report daily progress status and lookahead minimum 3days plan with Supervisor.
  • To Accurate and timely setting out of the works.
  • Timely handover of works and Quality records without outstanding defects.
  • Production of accurate records, drawing registers and weekly Reports.
  • Must have good relationship with Site team & client technical representative.
