Job Description
To lead, coach and maintain a high level of operational efficiency including quality care and service standards and also required to participate in projects relevant to elderly care as well as develop further through continuing education.
Management
- Provide leadership and management of the Nursing Department
- Supervise and ensure that care staff provide and meet expected care standards and customer servicing
- Do discharge planning
- Oversee the multi-disciplinary team consisting of Staff Nurses, Healthcare Attendants, Physiotherapy Aides, Rehab Assistants and Care Staff
- Responsible for the compliance of all nursing standards as stipulated by the Ministry of Health (MOH), Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) and Agency for Integrated Care (AIC)
- Prepare staff duty roster, leaves administration etc
Patient Care
- Analyze trends and changing needs of the residents in institutional settings. Plans nursing care based on changing trends
- Operationalize and monitor the smooth transition of the residents from acute to step-down care
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care
- Oversee the administration of treatment prescribed for residents
- Plans and conduct therapeutic programs for patients
- Conduct or make arrangements for health education, counselling for residents and their family members
Training and Professional Development
- Teach, mentor and supervise nursing staff in their clinical practice
- Conduct regular clinical training and competency assessment for nursing staff to ensure clinical compliance
- Perform clinical nursing audits and suggest interventions for, initiate and participate in clinical quality improvement in care delivery outcome
- Develop training materials and lesson curriculum when required
- Assist in collating of training data and evaluating training effectiveness
- Participate actively in medical products evaluation
- Participate in nursing research, where required.
Job Requirement
- Possess recognised nursing qualification i.e. Diploma or Degree in Nursing
- Possess relevant Post Basic or Advanced Diploma in Nursing, will be an advantage but not a must;
- Hold valid registration with Singapore Nursing Board (SNB)
- Have minimally 2 years of relevant experience as a Nurse Manager / Nurse Clinician
- Possess good clinical knowledge and skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
