Responsibilities
- Understand OSI and TCP/IP network protocols, including layering concepts, the functions of various layers, and LAN design such as switches and VLANs.
- Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routers and switches.
- Implement and troubleshoot routing protocols including EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP, along with WAN transport technologies like Private/Leased Line and MPLS.
- Expertise in switching technologies such as VLAN, STP, VTP, and HSRP.
- Possess strong knowledge of network concepts including 802.1x, STP, GRE, DMZ VPNs, and VLAN configurations.
- Skilled in Switching, Routing, and managing F5 Load Balancers.
- Experience in managing firewall operations, particularly with Layer 7 firewalls (Cisco ASA, PIX).
- Proficient in configuring various VPN types such as Point to Point, GRE, and SSL VPNs.
- Manage and configure security appliances and next-generation firewalls from vendors like Check Point, Cisco ASA, Juniper, Sophos-Cyberoam, and FortiGate.
- Hands-on experience with configuring URL filtering, file blocking, and security profiles on Palo Alto firewalls.
- Implement firewall rules and manage Checkpoint R65 & R75 on Nokia IP 390, Cisco PIX 515E, Cisco ASA 5510 & 5520.
- Administer and manage Citrix Netscaler and Access Gateway.
- Handle Cisco WAAS, wireless solutions, and IP management tasks.
- Analyze network traces to diagnose and resolve issues.
Requirements and Skills
- Atleast 3 - 6 years of relevant experience in network engineering
- Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities.
- CCNA certification is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science is preferred.
