About the Role
Looking for an experienced Security Engineer to join our client Data Loss Prevention (DLP) team within the Security Operations department. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and managing data security measures to prevent the unauthorised use, access, or loss of sensitive information. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including the Security Operations Centre (SOC), to handle incidents, ensure compliance with data security policies, and support investigations related to potential data breaches. You will report directly to the Manager.
Job Description
- Monitor and manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP) systems to identify and mitigate risks related to data leakage or unauthorised access.
- Process and respond to DLP-related incidents, including handling alerts, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with the SOC for incident management, reporting, and investigation of potential data loss events.
- Conduct technical security assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of DLP controls and recommend improvements.
- Provide timely and accurate reports on DLP activities, incidents, and trends to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Facilitate security investigations by gathering and analysing data in accordance with approved policies and procedures.
- Support ongoing process improvement initiatives to enhance the DLP program's efficiency and effectiveness.
- Responsible for any other ad hoc duties assigned.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of experience in IT, with a focus on Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Operations, Incident Management, or Security Operations Centre (SOC).
- Proficiency in DLP tools and technologies, as well as a solid understanding of data security principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- A proactive team player with a passion for cybersecurity and data protection.
