Roles & Responsibilities
Technical
- Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of his assigned vessels at all times. And able to provide analysis of the nature and causes of serious breakdowns and damage
- Ensure that vessels under his management complies with statutory, class and other third-party requirements
- Possesses a strong understanding of the technical knowledge of ships and keeps abreast of industry standards and regulations
- In charge of budget Compliance, which is to ensure maintenance and repair in accordance with company standards and within approved budget
- Ensure coordination of activities with the operations departement to ensure that ship support is achieved in the most efficient and cost-effective manner
- Overseas and allocate resources to support operations efficiently
- Expected to carry out regular ship visits as per the company requirement and update vessel status consistently
Crew Management
- Brief crew on organisational policies, documentation and procedures.
- In charge of the appraisals of crew members, together with the operation team
- Responsible for the compliance for crew manning and other adminstration purposes
- Ensure welfare of the crew and be the contact point between the crews/vessels and the management
Requirements
- Proactive attitude for identifying issues and managing problems before it gets out of hand
- Team player that creates synergy with colleagues
- Independent when allocate task and takes owneship for the assigned responbility
- Merticulous in his approach to work and details, especially when managing vessels and crews
Preferred Experience
- 2 years prior experience in equivalent or similar role
- COC class qualification or sailing experience with engine handling exposure an advantage
