A Therapist Aide is a person employed to assist a Physiotherapist and
Occupational Therapist in implementing therapy programs and/or to
undertake specific clients’ care activities under the direction and
supervision of the Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist where
appropriate.
The Job Description of a Therapist Aide is as follows:
· familiarizes with all the patients’ conditions and
needs of elderly clients undergoing a therapy program;
· Execute the planned treatments to ensure optimal recovery of
the client;
· Re-evaluate clients’ treatments with the Physiotherapist at regular intervals so as to determine clients’ progress and improvements;
· Assist in educating the clients and their care-givers in participating in their loved ones’ planned treatment;
· Be familiar with the correct usage of equipment and procedures to promote clients’ safety in the use of equipment;
· Assist to plan, conduct and update the group exercise, games and socialization therapy for the clients;
· -Update and maintain good functioning of the therapeutic and parameter equipments;
· -Report and liaise with the Centre Manager and/or Physiotherapist for administrative matters and therapy programs of the centre;
· Assist in teaching programs to caregivers of clients at regular intervals.
· Co-operate and work harmoniously with all levels of your colleagues to promote and participate fully in the centre’s activities;
· Any other duties as directed by the Centre Manager or the Physiotherapist and/or Occupational Therapist.
