XCL World Academy is seeking to recruit a K-12 Learning Systems Coordinator to support school staff and students by providing access to digital systems for all stakeholders and by ensuring the completeness and accuracy of student information, which influences school decision-making in the best interests of students and families throughout the academic year.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the maintenance, development, and continuous improvement of the PowerSchool Student Information System (SIS). This includes overseeing PowerScheduler, Gradebook, Report Card templates, and other essential functions within PowerSchool.
- Manage and optimize the integration of PowerSchool with other connected systems, such as Class Link, roster servers, and additional educational technology platforms.
- Ensure seamless data flow between PowerSchool and these systems to enhance operational efficiency.
- Extract and manipulate data from PowerSchool to create accurate rosters for various platforms, including but not limited to NWEA MAP testing, CAT4, and other assessment tools.
- Provide necessary reports and data exports to meet academic and administrative needs.
- Work closely with the School’s Academic Leadership Team to identify and implement required customizations within PowerSchool SIS to support the school’s educational objectives.
- Install, update, and maintain required plugins and APIs that connect PowerSchool to other educational technologies, ensuring smooth operation and compatibility.
- Provide training and support to school personnel on PowerSchool and related systems, ensuring all users are proficient and able to maximize the tools available to them.
- Provide technical support for PowerSchool and related systems, responding to inquiries and resolving issues.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure that PowerSchool and its connected systems are effectively supporting the school’s educational programs and administrative functions.
Person Specifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- of current IT technologies and technical competence in databases, networking, project management.
- Proven experience in managing PowerSchool SIS, including PowerScheduler, Gradebook, and report card templates.
- Familiar with systems that integrate with PowerSchool, such as ClassLink and roster servers.
- Strong data management skills, particularly in extracting and processing data for use across various platforms.
- Knowledge and experience in implementing and maintaining educational software integrations and APIs.
- Ability to train and support staff in using PowerSchool and related technologies effectively.
- Resourceful and quick to learn IT environments and build relationships across organizations.
- Excellent customer service skills, including highly developed communication skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
