Job Description
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, and overheads.
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring accurate and timely financial planning.
- Conduct cost analysis and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures and value engineering.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing tender documents, including bills of quantities (BOQs) and specifications.
- Evaluate and analyze bids from contractors and suppliers to ensure value for money.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
- Monitor and control project expenditures, ensuring that costs are kept within budget.
- Prepare and submit progress reports, including financial status and forecasts, to senior management.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and assess any cost implications.
- Track and report on cost variances and financial performance, providing insights and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project costs, contracts, and variations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Demonstrated experience in managing budgets and costs for construction projects, including tendering and contract administration.
- This role involves a 5.5-day work week: Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with a half-day on Saturday.
