Quant Developer (Asia Stock Trading)

Responsibilities

  • Dealing with problems in Asia Stock market coverage expansion (e.g. contact with local brokers in Korea and Japan).
  • Building a perfect and modular platform in order to process all parts of quant trading — data processing, model building, optimisation, and execution.
  • Developing and maintaining robust data checking, transforming for high-speed IO and storage procedures.
  • Building a robust, expandable research infrastructure, including global market data training, alpha evaluation, and risk handling.
  • Developing and maintaining in-house automated trading systems and strategies.
  • Building high-performance/low-latency modular systems for live trading and simulation.
  • Creating visualisation tools and monitors for live trading and simulation (market/position/profit and loss/any other statistics related to trading).

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or other quantitative discipline.
  • 3 years of experience and proven track record in the software engineering industry.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns and data structures.
  • Experience with the software delivery lifecycle and writing production-quality code.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python.
  • Experience working with SQL and historical time series data.
  • Experience working with real-time data/systems preferred.
  • Experience in Unix/Linux environments.
  • Able to take the initiative and work without detailed guidance or supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluent in speaking and writing in English.
  • Strong knowledge of probability and statistics (e.g., machine learning, time-series analysis, pattern recognition).
  • Experience in quantitative analysis and algorithms.
  • Experience in Finance is preferred.
  • Open source contributions/projects experience.
  • Interest and personal participation in financial markets.
