Role Description
We are seeking a dynamic Investment Intern (Asian Equities) to join our team in Singapore. In this role, you will be supporting the investment team and be responsible for analyzing and assessing investment opportunities, preparing financial models and conducting research. Duration of the internship is 3 month. Exceptional candidates may be considered for a full-time conversion thereafter.
Expected responsibilities:
- Assessing the attractiveness of potential investments in listed equities in Asia by analyzing their business models, strategies, and competitive environment
- Creating/maintaining valuation models for companies under coverage by thoroughly analyzing their financial accounts, underlying industry metrics and operational metrics. Your insights will help us make long-term investment decisions
- Conducting primary research including speaking to various stakeholders (suppliers, customers, former employees etc) and leading meetings with company management
- Providing regular updates and recommendations to the investment team
Desired candidate profile
You are a value investing enthusiast, passionate about investing, curious to learn about businesses, and experience in equity research and/or investing.
Traits we are looking for:
- Strong understanding of financial analysis and company valuation
- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and market trends, yet humble and mentally flexible enough to change your opinion
- 0 - 3 years of experience on the buy-side with a track record of picking undervalued companies
- Enjoy working in teams, asking difficult questions and being willing to voice dissenting opinions
- Intellectually curious, independent thinker and self-driven to learn about new business models and industries
- Fluency in English. Additional language skills relevant to Asia will be highly desirable - e.g., Korean, Hindi, and Bahasa
