Our client is actively searching for a Resident Cloud Engineer to join their team!

The responsibilities of this role are:

  • Support and participate in the following operations and projects related matters, including but not limited to:
  • Willingness to learn and work after office hours, where required.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure to support business applications
  • Monitor and optimize cloud resources to ensure efficient performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain cloud solutions following industry best practices.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve security vulnerabilities and deployment issues related to cloud resources.
  • Ensure cloud environments meet security best practices, including data encryption, access controls, and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Implement security measures such as firewalls, VPNs, and identity management solutions to protect cloud resources.
  • Monitor events related to access cloud management, provide first-line support and coordination in the resolution of those events where appropriate.
  • Monitor cloud systems for performance, availability, and security issues.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks such as updates, patches, and backups to ensure system integrity and uptime.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to cloud infrastructure and services
  • Monitor and optimize cloud usage to manage costs effectively.
  • Analyze spending trends and recommend cost-saving measures, such as rightsizing resources or utilizing reserved instances.
  • Work closely with developers to ensure cloud infrastructure supports application development and deployment.
  • Document cloud architecture, procedures, and configurations for reference and compliance purposes.
  • Provide regular reports on cloud performance, usage, and cost metrics to stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools, services, and processes to improve cloud infrastructure and operations.

The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT or equivalent from an established Institution
  • At least 4 years of work experience with Cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure Cloud
  • Proficient in cloud architecture and services (e.g. VMs, storage, networking)
  • Understanding of networking concepts and security best practices
  • Proficient in DevOps tools (e.g. Terraform, Docker, Jenkins)
  • Proficient in scripting languages (e.g. Python, bash)
  • Proficient in performing Windows and Linux server administration
  • Proficient in ServiceNow CMDB administration
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well as a member of a team and collaborate with colleagues at all levels.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. AWS Certified Solution Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus.
