Restaurant Manager (Japanese / Omakase)

Job Description

  • Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring a seamless and exceptional dining experience for guests.
  • Manage and train staff, including servers, kitchen staff, and hostesses, to maintain high service standards.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure the authenticity and quality of the omakase experience.
  • Monitor and maintain the restaurant’s ambiance, cleanliness, and overall aesthetic to align with the high-end branding.
  • Handle guest inquiries, reservations, and special requests with professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Implement and maintain efficient processes for inventory management, cost control, and purchasing.
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to attract and retain clientele, including VIP guests.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards.
  • Analyze financial reports to identify areas for improvement and increase profitability.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and partners.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the fine dining or luxury dining industry, preferably in a Japanese omakase setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of Japanese cuisine, particularly omakase, with a passion for delivering an authentic experience.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests, staff, and stakeholders.
  • High level of organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Creative and resourceful, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and enhancing the guest experience.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Japanese language or culture is an advantage.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
