Job Description:
As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our financial records. You will be responsible for performing various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using MYOB accounting software, including data entry, reconciliation, and updating ledgers.
- Monthly Reporting: Prepare and review monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure timely and accurate submission to management.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and follow-up on outstanding invoices.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy between bank statements and company records.
- Expense Management: Review and process expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policies and proper documentation.
- Month-End & Year-End Close: Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing necessary reports and schedules.
- Record Keeping: Maintain and organize financial documents and records in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting practices.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Relevant certifications or coursework in accounting is an advantage.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Proficiency in MYOB accounting software is required.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiar with tax regulations and compliance.
