Accountant Associate

Job Description:

As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our financial records. You will be responsible for performing various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using MYOB accounting software, including data entry, reconciliation, and updating ledgers.
  • Monthly Reporting: Prepare and review monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure timely and accurate submission to management.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and follow-up on outstanding invoices.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy between bank statements and company records.
  • Expense Management: Review and process expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policies and proper documentation.
  • Month-End & Year-End Close: Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing necessary reports and schedules.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain and organize financial documents and records in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting practices.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Relevant certifications or coursework in accounting is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in MYOB accounting software is required.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiar with tax regulations and compliance.
