Scaffolders are primarily responsible for assembling and disassembling temporary metal scaffolds, platforms, and staging that allow other construction personnel to work safely at heights. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assessing the type of scaffold necessary and planning the layout according to the project specifications.
- Checking the site conditions and preparing the foundation needed for scaffolding installation.
- Erecting scaffolding poles and attaching horizontal tubes to them.
- Fixing the scaffolding to buildings or structures and making sure it is stable.
- Ensuring that scaffolding platforms are solid, safe, and well-guarded.
- Dismantling scaffolding upon the completion of construction activities.
- Adhering to safety guidelines and standards to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Conducting regular checks and maintenance of scaffolding equipment.
