The incumbent will be based in one of the Public Health Institutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage expectations and work closely with clinical pharmacists &/or physicians on alternate sources & drugs when usual sources have supply issues.
- Ensure proper and comprehensive evaluation of all drugs and gather inputs from key stakeholders (physicians, nurses and/or clinical pharmacists). Represents institution as evaluation committee member in evaluation of drugs and pharmaceutical products.
- To keep optimal inventory to achieve optimal stock availability vs overstocking and avoid wastages.
- Work closely with pharmacy inventory team on inventory management of all pharmacy sections, support stock take activities and reporting.
- Participate in key activities and related operational workgroups, quality improvement/productivity projects, management of critical supplies & stocks, attend management meetings at the supporting site.
- Timely sourcing and processing of purchase requests from users – Purchase requests must be fulfilled on time in order not to affect patient's treatment plan.
- Verify and submit requirements of national contracts taking into considerations past usage and future trends of disease treatment protocols that aligns with MOH directives and international guidelines.
- Achieve cost-savings from purchases (Group/cluster contracts and institution quotations/negotiations)
- Manage controlled drugs, distribute effectively and in accordance to requirements of Misuse of Drug Acts.
- Ensure continuity of critical supplies or alternate products during exceptional periods.
- Minimize total value of goods written-off (Pharmacy Store and all pharmacy sections/substores).
- Material /item code creation and updates. Timely and accurate maintenance of PHI pharmacy systems (SAP & dispensing systems) on cost price, selling price, drug class and drug subsidy status/type.
- Handle audit queries in all related areas, stakeholder management at supporting site, and lead and motivate the team at site.
Requirements
- Degree in Pharmacy with minimum 5 years' of relevant professional practice experience
- A registered pharmacist with the Singapore Pharmacy Council
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience in engaging stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient in Microsoft Office applications, and knowledge in SAP-MM
- Relevant experience in Procurement and inventory management of drugs and pharmaceutical products.
- Good negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated, independent worker with team spirit and good problem solver
