OVERVIEW
The role of a driver in DAC is to provide safe driving and high standard of safety and care for staff and clients. The driver is also required to assist the DAC’s general office in documents despatch services, logistical transportation and other general works support.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Transport Assignments which includes:
a) Co-ordinate with the DAC general office on transportation assignments on a daily/weekly basis and carry out the assignments by driving assigned vehicle(s);
b) Inform the DAC general office immediately if any of the transportation assignment(s) cannot be carried out;
c) Responsible to send the staff/ clients to and from assigned venue/activities safely and according to schedule of the assignment;
d) Assist the clients to board/disembark from the assigned vehicle;
e) Exercise high level of reliability and integrity in handling and safeguarding of confidential information and cash;
f) Assist staff to carry goods and to provide logistical support during transportation assignments when the need arises;
g) Report any unusual occurrences when carrying out assigned duties; and
h) Comply with LTA/Government Authority’s traffic/parking rules & regulations at all times while executing driving duties.
2. Upkeep of assigned vehicles which includes:
a) Keeping vehicle in good and serviceable conditions at all time;
b) Report any defects immediately & recommend necessary rectification measure(s) where possible;
c) Cleaning and washing of assigned vehicles;
d) Coordinate maintenance, servicing and repair of the vehicles;
e) Obtain quotations for required maintenance, repair & modifications (in compliance to LTA) to the assigned vehicles;
f) Payment of road tax upon receiving road tax renewal notice, cheque and copy of vehicle insurance from the DAC General Office; and
g) Sending vehicles for statutory inspection upon receiving LTA’s Vehicle Inspection Notice.
3. Cover the driving transportation assignment for other programmes/departments (i.e. School/ EIPIC/ HQ whichever is applicable), whenever the need arises.
4. Perform other general works duties as and when assigned by the Management on the days with no driving transportation assignments, e.g. helping in class.
5. Attend and participate in DAC and Association meetings/ activities as and when required.

•Primary/Secondary education
•A valid Class 4 driving license
•Physically fit
