Core Duties:
• Practice standard precautions and wear full personal protective equipment (PPE) during all work activities.
• Rinse all soiled surgical supplies and equipment and prepare them for mechanical cleaning.
• Assist in the assembling of simple instrument sets, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure that all sterilized goods after sterilization are placed on the correct shelves, maintaining proper organization and inventory control.
• Load and unload supplies and equipment from terminal sterilizers, following proper procedures to prevent contamination.
Additional Duties:
• Clean identified sterilizers and sterile processing equipment according to established protocols.
• Empty and bag up all pathological and general waste at the preparation, packing, and decontamination areas, adhering to Waste Disposal guidelines.
• Clear and bag up dirty laundry and transport it to the disposal area following hospital practices, while maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in the department at all times.
• Perform portering duties as needed, assisting with the transport of supplies, equipment, and other materials within the facility.
• Complete any other duties as assigned by the department-in-charge, contributing to the smooth operation of the sterile processing department.
Job Requirements:
Minimum PSLE Certificate or equivalent
Able to read and write in simple English
Able to work on rotating shifts (including weekends & PH)
Able to work overnight shifts
