Your Job
The primary purpose of your role is to work closely with the Product Development team to develop and maintain a Quality Plan. This plan is crucial in managing and mitigating project risks to ensure a flawless product launch that meets the customer's cost, quality, and delivery requirements.

Internal: Product Design Engineers, Manufacturing / Process / Tooling Engineers, Project Management, Manufacturing Plants, Product Management & Sales / Marketing
External: Customers, Suppliers
What You Will Do
- Quality Plan Development: Ensures the project Quality Plan for new products and product modifications are focused on the voice of customer and all project quality deliverables are completed in a timely manner.
- Risk Analysis: Facilitation during front-end product / tool / assembly design or process reviews, design & process FMEA reviews by providing inputs on internal and external quality history, lessons learned and through active critical thinking / questioning. Reviews and approved reliability test plan.
- Metrology / Qualification of New / Modified Parts: Facilitate the development of measurement plans / methods and lead the disposition of new products at FOT (First Off Tool) and Qualification. Ownership of gauges & necessary inspection fixtures, perform Measurement System Analysis, Capability Studies & any necessary statistical analysis with goal of Tool / Process Qualification.
- Flawless Launch: Work with Manufacturing AQP or QE to conduct Safe Launch exercise. Perform process audits and reverse (go & see) FMEA’s to qualify new production processes, and to ensure compliance to documented control plans for new products.
- Customer Approval: Ensures customer required documentation relating to customer acceptance of new products and product modifications are completed.
- Supplier Approval: Reviews and approves supplier product specific documentation on new and modified purchased components. Works with supplier quality engineer to ensure compliance.
- Problem Solver: Lead in the problem solving (8D’s), analysis, and resolution of new product related customer complaints or internal quality complaints during launch. Support efforts for prevention of repeat issues & systemic improvements to the Product Development Processes to reduce New Products QNs.
- Principle Based Management & Quality Systems: Understand & practice the KOCH 5 dimensions & guiding principles, Lean / Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- BS Degree in Engineering or other related field
- Experience in Quality Engineering or Automotive related field
- Strong organizational skill to anticipate, plan, organize and self-monitor workload
- Good communication skill and presentation skill
- Good interpersonal skills for effective leadership and team facilitation
- Solid Knowledge & understanding of metrology and GD&T
- Knowledge of statistics - experience using Minitab or other software
- Experience in using MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
- Able to travel (domestic and international) 20%
What Will Put You Ahead
- Training in Capability Analysis (CPK) , SPC, AIAG VDA FMEA, Lean / Six Sigma, reliability test plans , VDA19 , VDA5
- Experience in Quality engineering in a new-product introduction environment
- Experience performing PFMEA/DFMEA and using other Advanced Quality Planning tool
- Experience working as customer interface (including Automotive OEMs and Tier1/2 suppliers)
- Working knowledge of testing, molding, stamping, plating and assembly processes
- Good knowledge of IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, AIAG core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC)
- Quality System (ISO 9001 or IATF 16949) and Supplier Auditing experience, Gage and Fixture design
- Knowledge of VDA 5, VDA19 , AIAG-VDA FMEA
- Experience working with European automotive customers
