Business Development Officer, SIgN

A*star Research Entities

SIgN is looking for a Business Development Officer to support business development, manage relationships between SIgN and its key partners as well as support the institute’s overall Research and Innovation goals.


Role & Responsibilities:


  • Industry Engagement to identify and attract new strategic industry partners for collaborations and partnerships
  • Assist in connecting companies and researchers/research units in A*STAR by articulating key SIgN capabilities when engaging industry partners.
  • Promote SIgN platform technologies to external academic and industry partners and research institutions for service engagements and collaborations through seminars, conferences, roadshows and exhibitions.
  • Review and lead negotiation of research collaboration and service agreements with public sector and industry in consultation with A*STAR Legal, Innovation & Enterprise HQ A*STAR and BMRC Clusters.
  • Support Principal Investigators (PIs) and their teams in identifying collaborative project aims, deliverables, budgets and timelines for collaboration and service projects.
  • Provide guidance and advice on intellectual property rights and usage.


Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Infectious Diseases, Immunology or related field as above.
  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience, preferably with a background in the medtech, healthcare, or biomedical industry.
  • Good interpersonal skills to liaise and work with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Willing to learn, adaptable and flexible.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and in a team to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge and competence in industry engagement and intellectual property would be advantageous.
