A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs (A*STAR ID Labs) is seeking for a Scientist to join us in our mission to be a leading centre of infectious diseases research. A*STAR ID Labs aims to develop a cohesive A*STAR response to drive and deliver translational infectious diseases research to better health and economic outcomes.
The candidate will be joining the Antimicrobial Chemical Biology Lab, a newly established group in A*STAR ID Labs focusing on the development of synthetic antimicrobial compounds for potential therapeutic application against infection.
Research projects will encompass various tasks such as:
- Chemical synthesis
- In vitro antimicrobial activity testing
- Understanding mechanisms of action
- In vivo efficacy evaluation.
The candidate will be trained on project management and ideation of new studies aligning with the lab focus. He/she will also support the team in lab operation, safety oversight, and documenting experimental procedures and results.
Job Requirements
- Ph.D degree in microbiology, biomedical science, bioengineering, or any other related field
- Having background knowledge in AI and programming will be an advantage
- Highly motivated and passionate about scientific research
- Effective communication both verbally and in writing
- Team player
- Receptive and detail-orientated
