Position Purpose:
In this role, the applicant will work as part of a regional team. He/she will be responsible for scheduling physical commodity movements of precious metals across a global network. The role requires coordination with trading and sales teams as well as other support functions to ensure efficient transfer of precious metals to our clients. This role will ensure that all daily processes are fully completed and signed off and will also involve daily processing of metal releases and trade checking.
Primary duties will include :
- Liaising with warehouses and freight forwarders to arrange deliveries to client and receipt from supplier.
- Arranging and preparing payment of invoices.
- To prepare document and arrange stock release into warehouses and other storage facilities.
- To arrange shipment with warehouses for stock to be shipped from one location to another.
- Maintain effective business relationships with Sales, Logistics, Banks and colleagues
- File Management - Maintain accurate files in soft copy for auditing purposes
- Gather documents for Internal and External Auditor
- Perform daily reconciliation for previous day trades
- Adhoc duties as required
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree holder
- Minimum 1 year of commodities related experience (ideally Precious Metals)
- Exposure to and solid understanding of the trading of metal products.
- Exposure to and solid understanding of finance/repurchase transactions
- Exposure to freight forwarding and chartering logistics.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Candidates with relevant experience from logistic companies will also be considered.
- Ability to multitask, prioritise and delegate.
- Good Excel skills is an added advantage
- Attention to detail.
