We are looking for a Senior Algorithm Engineer to join the Chinese Media Group. The candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing and optimising algorithms for various recommendation scenarios on the news platform
- Identifying deficiencies in existing systems and algorithms from data, proposing improved algorithms, and leading the implementation of recommendation algorithms, achieving breakthroughs in personalised news recommendations, distribution strategies, user understanding, content understanding, etc
- Improving user-experience of the product(s) through in-depth understanding of the business and machine learning technologies to optimise models and strategies for continuous improvement on user experience
- Collaborating and communicating closely with stakeholders (including but not limited to product and foundational technology) to improve and optimise the news recommendation product iteratively
- Exploring the application of advanced algorithms in real business scenarios, considering business characteristics
Requirements:
- Degree in a relevant discipline; at least 5 years of relevant working experience in recommendation systems/projects, including recall, ranking, recommendation strategies, etc preferred
- Bilingual in English and Chinese (written and spoken) as this role supports Chinese publications
- Strong coding skills with a solid foundation in data structures and algorithms
- Experienced in data mining, personalised recommendations, or natural language processing, and familiar with common machine learning algorithms such as DNN, GBDT, LR, TensorFlow, Pytorch etc, and big data processing platforms such as Hadoop and Spark; experience in handling large-scale data would be advantageous
- Kept abreast of cutting-edge industry technologies with a strong interest in applying technology to real-case scenarios
- Highly adaptable with an aptitude for critical and creative thinking, and is a fast-learner
