About Metta Day Rehabilitation Centre for the Elderly
Established in June 1998, Metta Day Rehabilitation Centre for the Elderly (慈光乐龄日间康复中心) provides specialized rehabilitative care for individuals suffering from physical impairments due to stroke, Parkinson’s disease, or other injuries. Our center, with a maximum capacity of 75, serves a diverse population regardless of race, language, or religion. We are dedicated to enhancing our patients' independence while offering respite to their families and caregivers. Our comprehensive services aim to maximize functional levels through a range of rehabilitative and social support services all under one roof.
Position: Therapy Aide
Responsibilities:
- Implement physiotherapy care plans as directed by the Physiotherapist.
- Execute occupational therapy care plans as assigned by the Occupational Therapist.
- Attend to clients' needs and assist with lifting and transferring clients when necessary.
- Report any abnormalities observed in clients.
- Document daily therapy sessions and maintain accurate records.
- Handle and maintain rehabilitative equipment, reporting any faults to the Physiotherapist.
- Ensure a safe environment for clients during therapy sessions.
- Accompany clients to and from the centre using MDRC transport and ensure their safety during outdoor activities.
- Assist in Metta fundraising activities as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum of Secondary school education or WSQ/NITEC in Therapy Services or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience.
- Ability to handle elderly clients who have had strokes.
- Bilingual in English and another language, with knowledge of dialects preferred.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Hardworking, meticulous, responsible, and service-oriented with strong communication skills.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
