ASSISTANT IT MANAGER (Government Sector)

  • Assist the IT Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the IT department, including systems administration, network infrastructure, and end-user support.
  • Manage IT projects from initiation to completion, including project planning, resource allocation, timeline management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and prioritize IT initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate, implement, and support IT applications and solutions to meet business needs, leveraging industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for IT systems, applications, and processes, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for stakeholders.
  • Serve as a liaison between IT and other departments, facilitating communication, training, and support for IT-related initiatives and projects.
  • Monitor and report on IT project progress, milestones, and performance metrics, identifying risks and escalating issues as needed to ensure project success.
  • Assist in managing vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, service level agreement (SLA) management, and vendor performance evaluation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in IT project management, with a focus on applications and software implementations.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including project planning, execution, and stakeholder management.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira).
  • Experience in systems administration, network infrastructure, or IT support is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
  • Certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or relevant vendor certifications are advantageous.
