JOB DESCRIPTION
- Optimise and automate assay protocols for high throughput screening.
- Implement developed assays for screening of extracts and strains for biological activities.
- Perform further testing on primary hit samples, including activity confirmation, potency and selectivity assessment.
- Provide assay support for hit follow up, such as bioassay-guided compound isolation.
- Analyse assay data using statistical parameters and interpretate results.
- Source, purchase and maintain sufficient stock of required reagents and consumables throughout assigned project duration.
- Provide regular progress report to project group and presentation at group meeting.
- Prepare regular updates to collaborators and compile the required interim and final reports for assigned projects.
- Participate in lab housekeeping duties, such as waste disposal and lab cleaning and maintenance.
JOB REQUIREMENT
- Bachelor Degree in Life Sciences, Food Sciences, or similar subjects.
- Min 1 year experience in a microbiology or mammalian cell culture lab environment with excellent aseptic techniques.
- Familiar with sample preparation, dilution, and assay measurements.
- Experience in cultivation of mammalian cells.
- Prior experience in high throughput screening and knowledge of lab automation would be an advantage.
- Highly motivated and committed to laboratory work with good time management skills.
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Able to multitask, work independently and as part of a team.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
