1. STRATEGY AND IMPLEMENTATION
- Contribute to the establishment of the medical strategy providing the scientific leadership into therapeutic and brand strategies. Possess overall oversight of all medical activities and ensure the implementation of the agreed strategy by executing the agreed plans
- Maintain leadership role in understanding current and emerging science for relevant categories/brands, including respective treatment, prevention and other self-care measures
- Responsible for scientific and medical communication plans including material development, publications, Medical Science Liaison’s, etc. Develop and guide local Thought Leader (TL) management strategy
- At a region cluster level, to lead the Allergy, Pain and Digestive Portfolio across all countries
2. BUDGET
- Accountable for the local budget of medical function. Manage the budget planning for medical activities and function. Monitor spending against budget and ensure accurate reporting
3. MEDICAL GOVERNANCE and MEDICAL INFORMATION
- Accountable for medical governance and medical information within Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei in front of the medical affairs management. Responsible for setting and maintaining a culture of the highest ethical standards for any medical activity
- Responsible to supervise and ensure due diligence for scientific studies conduction (e.g. Investigator Initiated Research and Bayer Sponsored studies). Responsible to ensure that the conduct of studies is in accordance to the applicable regulations and terms of contract in such a way that the participating subjects / patients are not exposed to unnecessary risks. Local Quality System Document (LQSD) Process Owner for Medical owned processes in country /cluster
- Accountable for the medical accuracy and correctness and for the ethical tenability of any information provided by the local subsidiary of Bayer Consumer Health on medical topics
- Ensure that all information requests coming from customers, users or patients are managed according to the relevant Standard Operating Procedures and that the information provided is accurate and balanced
- Follow global and/or regional guidance in the use of standard responses, Question and Answer standards, compliance requirements
- Ensure approval of advertising copy/promotional copy, create and approve public statements and internal statement from a medical perspective. Ensure that claims are substantiated by Competent and Adequate Scientific Evidence (CARSE)
4. MANAGEMENT
- Responsible for the interface with the respective global functions related to the respective matrix organization between country and global functions. Actively involved in Local CDH/CDH LT strategic discussions
5. CROSS-FUNCTIONAL SUPPORT
- Ensure optimal cross-functional support at a local level that it is maintained and enhanced at every opportunity
- Responsible for ensuring that there is adequate support from within the medical department for promotional material collaboration and approval. Ensure provision of medical expertise and training to internal and external customers, medical staff, marketing and other commercial functions as required
- Work in close collaboration with marketing, regulatory, sales and legal function
