We are seeking an Infra Middleware Engineer to install, configure, and operate operating systems and middleware products such as JBoss, Tomcat, WebSphere Application Server, Kafka, IBM-MQ, and Kubernetes. The engineer will also assist the Solution Architect in implementing proposed solutions and executing project deliverables.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, administer, monitor, and maintain enterprise-wide applications, including Apache HTTPd, Apache Tomcat, JBoss, WebSphere Application Servers, Kubernetes, Kafka, and IBM-MQ.
- Collaborate with Software Development and Infrastructure teams to define hardware requirements, implement application solutions, and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Work closely with business units and project managers to address a variety of technical and business challenges.
- Interface with software, network, and UNIX infrastructure administrators to implement solutions for complex technical issues.
- Evaluate and select middleware technologies based on application design requirements and proof-of-concept design studies.
- Troubleshoot web and middleware environments to identify and resolve potential performance bottlenecks.
- Differentiate between infrastructure and environment-related issues using advanced troubleshooting methods.
- Administer and maintain web environments, including advanced troubleshooting of Java-based applications (e.g., analyzing heap dumps and thread dumps).
- Maintain up-to-date documentation to reflect system configurations and environment changes.
- Handle escalations effectively to meet or exceed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Utilize IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and tools to support operations.
Requirements:
- Must be a Singaporean citizen due to G50 security clearance requirements.
- Diploma/Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Linux and Windows systems.
- Knowledge or experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS is a plus.
- Strong implementation and administrative skills in Linux systems, particularly RedHat.
- Familiarity with open-source cloud solutions such as Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, and technologies like Docker containers and Kubernetes.
- Prior experience providing enterprise-wide support for OpenShift, private/public cloud, and on-premises systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-driven with a focus on improving productivity and efficiency.
