School of Social Sciences is looking for a candidate to join them as a Research Assistant.
The successful candidate will be an integral member of a research team that advances our research investigating the neural, physiological, and cognitive correlates of perceiving real vs fake information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day to day coordination of funded projects.
- Prepare ethics documents to institutional review boards.
- Participant recruitment.
- Data collection using neurophysiological recordings, such as electroencephalography.
- Data processing and analysis.
- Liaise with stakeholders and project collaborators.
- Systems administration, including maintenance of network servers and data security.
- Contribute to the production of research reports.
- Perform other tasks as required by the Principal Investigators relevant to the research.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors (Honours) degree in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience or related field from university of good standing.
- Experiences in cognitive experiments and/or neuroimaging (EEG) and/or eye-tracking techniques and knowledge of Python, R, or MATLAB are desirable
- Good project coordination and administration skills, including data management and storage.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English is essential as the Research Assistant is expected to participate in scientificpresentations.
- Excellent organizational skills and able to work within given deadlines.
- Self-directed learner who effectively picks up relevant skills as needed.
- Task-orientation, excellent organizational skills, attention to details and accuracy, flexibility in responding to fluidsituations, good interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently.
