Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Oracle WebLogic Server Administrator to plan, coordinate, and execute the upgrade of our Oracle WebLogic Server environments. The successful candidate will ensure smooth transitions by managing upgrades, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain application performance and functionality. This role requires a deep understanding of WebLogic architecture, deployment, and administration.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review the 14c release notes to identify new features, deprecated features, and potential impacts on the current application.
• Assess current WebLogic configurations and recommend improvements for optimal performance and security.
• Conduct pre-upgrade assessments, including risk analysis, application code change analysis, and mitigation planning.
• Plan and execute the upgrade of Oracle WebLogic Server environments with minimal downtime.
• Implement necessary Java code changes to ensure compatibility and seamless integration with the upgraded WebLogic environment.
• Develop test plans and execute comprehensive testing of applications and configurations post-upgrade.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the WebLogic upgrade process, ensuring stability and performance.
• Document upgrade procedures, configurations, and best practices for future reference.
• Provide training and support to internal teams on new WebLogic features and functionalities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to ensure seamless integration and minimize application disruptions.
• Monitor the upgraded environment for issues and performance bottlenecks, making necessary adjustments.
• Tune WebLogic server configurations to optimize performance in the upgraded environment.
Mandatory Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Oracle WebLogic Server administration and upgrades.
• Proven experience in planning and executing WebLogic upgrades.
• Strong understanding of WebLogic architecture, deployment, and administration.
• Experience with WebLogic clustering, load balancing, and high availability configurations.
• Proficiency in Java and scripting languages (e.g., WLST, Python, Shell) for automation.
• Familiarity with Oracle databases and SQL.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with other Oracle Fusion Middleware products (e.g., SOA Suite, OSB).
• Knowledge of Cloud platforms (e.g., Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Certification in Oracle WebLogic Server or related technologies.
