As an English Teacher specializing in Special Education and Inclusive Teaching, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing effective strategies to support students with diverse learning needs. You will be responsible for developing engaging and accessible English language curriculum tailored to individual student requirements, fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom culture, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure the holistic development of all students.
What You'll Do:
- Design and deliver differentiated English language lessons to meet the needs of students with diverse learning abilities and styles (Grade 2 to Grade 8).
- Implement effective instructional strategies, accommodations, and modifications to support students with special educational needs.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes diversity, equity, and belonging.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
- Utilize assistive technologies and resources to enhance learning outcomes for students with disabilities.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in special education and inclusive teaching.
Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in special education / education from recognized university.
- Possess Certificate in English Language Teaching (CELTA) an advantage.
- Relevant teaching experience in SPED setting / inclusive school setting.
- Relevant working experience with students with challenges and learning difficulties.
- Relevant experience teaching English as Second Language (ESL) learners.
- International Primary Curriculum (IPC) experience/ British Curriculum experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and sensitivity to the needs of a diverse and multicultural environment.
- Knowledge & skills to manage behavior through appropriate behavior intervention strategies.
