Position : Temp Executive - Visitor Experience Officer - (2pax)
Contract period : for a period of 11 months. (1 candidate to start ASAP, 1 candidate to start in late Oct/early Nov)
Working hours and working days:
Tuesday to Sunday : 10:00am to 5:00pm (including PH)
The working hours on a 6-days basis from Tues to Sunday. It is inclusive of 1 hour lunch break each day. OIL is usually given for work done on PH days.
Job Scope – Visitor Experience Officer
2. The Emergency Preparedness Centre (EPC) is an extension of the Civil Defence Heritage Gallery (CDHG) which aims to equip members of public with essential knowledge and skills to deal with emergencies. The operating hours of EPC will follow that of the CDHG i.e, Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm (including Public Holidays).
3. The temporary staff will assist in the public-facing operations of the Emergency Preparedness Centre (EPC) located at Central Fire Station. The temporary staff will be expected to carry out the following under the operations of the EPC:
i) To guide visitors through the various zones in the EPC and impart Emergency Preparedness skills and knowledge including fire safety awareness to the visitors. The temporary staff is expected to be efficient, tactful and courteous at all times when handling correspondences and enquiries from member of public and visitors of the EPC.
ii) To carry out routine tasks to:
a. Ensure the functioning of equipment in the EPC, eg. check the surveillance network (when required) such as the Close-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras and recording system
b. Conduct simple maintenance of equipment in the EPC (eg. test all multimedia, computers and projecters)
c. Ensure the adherence of safety and security measures in the EPC
iii) To carry out first-level troubleshooting of technical problems, such as faulty lighting control units and interactive stations, and liaise with the maintenance contractors to resolve those above their ability to troubleshoot and monitor their progress.
iv) To assist in CDHG’s operations and any other job function, if required.
4. The temporary staff shall report to work from Tuesday to Sunday (including Public Holiday). The guides shall report for work not later than 09:30am daily to prepare and ensure the exhibits are functioning well before the commencement of the first visit at 10:00am.
Manpower Requirements
5. Our requirements are as follows:
• At least a Diploma/Higher NITEC holder. Salary range is $2,800 - $3,000 depending on qualification and relevant working experience.
• Preferably possesses related experience in customer service/public engagement.
• Preferably possess good communication skills.
• Having experience in any formal First-Aid training or Fire-Safety training is a plus.
