Job Description:
Home Tutor to provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to students in a home setting ( Secondary International School) . The tutor will help students improve their academic performance, understand complex subjects, and prepare for examsas well as other non-academic activities for knowledge enhancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personalized Instruction: Tailor lesson plans to meet the individual learning and activities needs and goals of the student.
- Subject Expertise: Provide tutoring in specific subjects, ensuring the student fully understands the material.
- Homework Help: Assist with daily homework assignments and non-academic activities, ensuring efficiency and comprehension.
- Test Preparation: Help students prepare for upcoming exams by reviewing materials, providing practice questions, and offering strategies.
- Progress Monitoring: Track and report on student progress, identifying areas of improvement and adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
- Communication: Maintain regular communication with parents regarding the student's progress, challenges, and accomplishments.
- Mentorship: Provide motivation and encouragement to help students stay engaged and focused on their academic goals as well as non-academic goals.
- Time Management: Ensure effective use of tutoring time to cover necessary topics while fostering a positive and productive learning environment either in academic and non-academic activities.
- Non- Academic activities: Advise, consult and sourcing the ideal non- academic activities for the children.
- Time attendance: Variances according to the normal school day and school public holiday and need to be drafted before on boarding on weekly or monthly basis between the employer and employee.
Qualifications:
- A diploma or degree in the subject area or related field.
- Prior experience in tutoring or teaching is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with the Singaporean education system and curriculum.
- Good command of the subject matter, especially for higher-level tutoring (secondary, JC).
- Multilanguange preferable.
