- Coordinate the installation and execution of mechanical and electrical services such as HVAC, lighting, plumbing, fire protection systems, and more, ensuring alignment with the overall project plan.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth coordination and timely completion of M&E works.
Review M&E drawings and ensure they comply with the project's specifications, building codes, and safety regulations. - Assist in the planning, scheduling, and monitoring of M&E activities to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.
Monitor and track progress, identifying potential delays or conflicts and resolving them promptly.
Ensure all M&E systems are installed and tested in accordance with local building codes and project requirements. - Conduct regular inspections of M&E works on-site to ensure quality standards are met and identify any issues that need to be addressed.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies, and monitor the M&E subcontractors' adherence to these standards. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including progress reports, technical drawings, and records of inspections or testing results.
Prepare method statements and risk assessments for M&E works.
Provide regular updates to the project team regarding the status of M&E works. - Provide technical advice to resolve issues related to mechanical and electrical systems on-site.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any M&E-related problems that arise during the construction process.
Work with the procurement team to ensure that M&E materials and equipment are delivered on time and meet project specifications. - Liaise with M&E contractors to ensure that work is completed in accordance with the contract, project specifications, and quality standards.
Review and approve M&E shop drawings, materials submissions, and method statements provided by subcontractors.
Coordinate the integration of M&E works with other trades to prevent conflicts or delays. - Supervise the testing and commissioning of all M&E systems, ensuring they are fully operational and meet performance specifications.
Ensure that all necessary handover documentation is completed and submitted, including operation and maintenance manuals. - Undertake any additional tasks or responsibilities as required to ensure the successful delivery of M&E systems within the project.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in M&E coordination within the construction industry, preferably with experience in large-scale projects such as commercial or residential buildings.
- Strong knowledge of M&E systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
