Job Description:
Youth Services supports individuals aged 11 to 21, with a mission to mentor and positively influence their lives. This includes building their resilience through supportive mentorship and empowering them to drive change in their communities.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversight of Strategic Initiatives:
- Direct and implement the organization's strategic plans to ensure they align with its mission.
- Develop a work plan for the department in alignment with organizational goals
- Implement changes to priority service areas for the department
- Oversee implementation of operational strategies for the department
- Lead resolution of operational issues within the department
- Develop service standards, performance indicators, and operating guidelines for the department
- Provide supervision and support to team members for crises and concerns faced by youths
Resource Oversight:
- Efficiently handle budgeting, capital, and staffing resources.
- Ensure resources are used effectively to achieve the organization's goals.
Building Partnerships:
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with other agencies and community groups.
- Enhance service delivery and broaden the organization's reach through these partnerships.
Governance and Operational Efficiency:
- Maintain compliance with governance policies and regulations.
- Supervise staff, conduct performance reviews, and ensure policies are followed to uphold operational standards.
- Assess capability gaps within the team
- Identify and oversee the implementation of management development and/or professional development programs for the team
- Conduct audits on service quality to ensure compliance with policies.
Staff Development:
- Create and manage professional development programs for employees.
- Ensure staff have the necessary training to support youth effectively.
Policy Enforcement:
- Develop and implement policies that align with the organization's objectives and ensure best practices are followed.
- Manage, deploy, and monitor the use of resources, drafting funding proposals for the delivery of services.
Requirements:
- Preferably with a Degree in Social Work/ Counselling/ Psychology
- Minimum 5 years prior experience in leadership and people management (Youth Sector or related fields)
- Independent, good communication and interpersonal skills
- A team player with passion in equipping and inspiring young lives.
